"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23 It is with hope in God's grace and mercy, yet unwavering faith, that the Jackson family announces the peaceful transition of our beloved father, Deacon Leon Jackson Jr. While our hearts grieve his passing, we rejoice in knowing that he has entered into the eternal presence of the Lord whom he faithfully served throughout his life. Ordained as a Deacon in 1970, Deacon Jackson dedicated more than five decades to serving God and ministering to others with humility, compassion, and unwavering faith. His life reflected the principles he believed in, and he quietly demonstrated Christ's love through his service to his church, his family, and his community. Whether offering encouragement, extending a helping hand, or praying for those in need, he faithfully answered God's call with a servant's heart. A devoted provider, Deacon Jackson was employed by Tri-State Brick and Tile for 45 years, where he earned the respect of coworkers and friends through his integrity, dependability, and remarkable work ethic. He believed that honest work was honorable and that every responsibility should be carried out with excellence. His commitment to providing for his family was one of the many ways he expressed his love. Above all else, Deacon Jackson treasured his family. He shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Lillie B. Jackson, who preceded him in death. Together they built a home rooted in faith, love, discipline, and unwavering commitment to one another. Their marriage served as an enduring example of devotion and steadfast love for generations to follow. To know Deacon Leon Jackson Jr. was to know a man of quiet strength, unwavering faith, genuine kindness, and deep humility. He never sought recognition for the many lives he touched, yet his influence reached far beyond his own family. His wisdom, gentle spirit, warm smile, and calm presence brought comfort to many. He believed in putting God first, loving his family wholeheartedly, working diligently, and treating every person with dignity and respect. His life was a living testimony that true greatness is found in faithful service. Deacon Jackson leaves to cherish his precious memory four daughters: Lillie (Roosevelt) Courtney of Jackson, Mississippi; Pearl (Arthur) Holliman of Madison, Mississippi; Dorothy (Calvin) Phillips of Jackson, Mississippi; and Jackie (the late Danny) Catchings of Jackson, Mississippi. He is also survived by three sons: Leon (Teressa) Jackson III of Madison, Mississippi; Pierre (Doreen) Jackson of Hopewell, Virginia; and Sherreccia (Tiffany) Jackson of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He also leaves a host of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his love, wisdom, and faithful example. Although our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that his labor is complete, his race is finished, and his faith has become sight. His legacy of faith, integrity, perseverance, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his influence will continue through the generations that follow.
